Community Projects

Outlines Collective

Outlines Collective is a group of street artists working in the local community to improve access to arts and support partner organisations with creative interventions. Led by Naomi Christie and Kirsty Lawie, Outlines works with graffiti-style murals, stickers, posters, and other street art interventions, to challenge perceptions of street art, raise awareness of its heritage, and improve access to visual art. Respect for graffiti, street art and the surrounding subcultures is at the core of this work. Bold lines, bright colours, and important messaging is key to their designs. You can see Outlines work across Aberdeen, including ‘Far Ye Gan?’ at Mounthooly, ‘Dinna Fash’ on South Esplanade, and Cornhill Community Garden.

ThrowUpGallery

ThrowUpGallery came about to empower communities to make a difference in their respective communities. The term throw-up means a “quick freestyle graffiti bomb”. Responsible for most of the legal spaces to paint across Aberdeen, ThrowUpGallery has been making an impact on the local community for many years.
